Environment Online (ENO) is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development where schools around the world study environmental themes and share the results at local level and globally on the website. This free programme for schools was launched in 2000 and has now spread to over 100 countries and is administered by the city of Joensuu, Finland. ENO works in co-operation with UNEP and the university of Joensuu, as well as many international organisations and networks.

EWPEuropean Water Partnership (EWP) is supporting WWMD through their voluntary program Aquawareness which is the European Water Awareness and Water Stewardship Programme that works to create awareness, support the shift of mindset and support the change of behaviour and practices about water in Europe. EWP is an action-oriented open forum for all stakeholders including governmental agencies (local, national and European), knowledge institutes, private companies, non-governmental organisations, the public and private financial sector, end-users and civil society groups to exchange views, to find solutions for the water challenges in wider Europe and to stimulate partnerships.

Earth Day NetworkThe Global Water Network, a project of Earth Day Network, is a comprehensive resource to raise awareness about water issues and to raise funds to help build water and sanitation projects where they are needed most. From helping a rural community get its first well to providing toilets and hand-washing facilities for schools, the Global Water Network provides a way for people to make a difference. The Global Water Network is helping to spread the word about World Water Monitoring Day to its affiliates across the world.

H2bid.com is an online global procurement exchange for the water industry, which provides a clearinghouse for water utility contract opportunities. With a core interest in water, H2bid.com is excited to be a World Water Monitoring Day partner. As a partner, the company focuses on promoting WWMD to high schools in Michigan, as well as to schools internationally via its web procurement portal.

H2O for LifeH2O for Life provides funds to directly support projects in developing countries designed to make clean water available and sustainable to schools in countries which are in need of water, sanitation and hygiene education (WaSH). Through service learning projects, U.S. partner schools raise the funds necessary to complete these projects, thereby bringing clean water to sister schools in developing countries. World Water Monitoring Day will be offered to H2O for Life schools as a project in which partnering schools in the U.S. and the developing world can participate, providing an additional opportunity for informational and cultural exchange.

EE WeekNational Environmental Education Week (EE Week) is the nation's largest organized environmental education event. Held each April, EE Week promotes understanding and protection of the natural world by actively engaging K-12th grade students and educators of all subjects in an inspired week of environmental learning and service before Earth Day. WWMD participants are encouraged to join the thousands of schools, nature centers, zoos, museums, and aquariums nationwide who have made a commitment to engage students in environmental learning through participation in EE Week.

Environmental Education Week is coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) in cooperation with thousands of outstanding schools, environmental education organizations, education associations, and state and federal agencies.

National Public Lands DayNational Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2008, 120,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, removed trash and invasive plants planted over 1.6 million trees. The goals of NPLD include: educating Americans about critical environmental and natural resources issues and the need for shared stewardship of these valued, irreplaceable lands; building partnerships between the public sector and the local community based upon mutual interests in the enhancement and restoration of America's public lands; and improving public lands for outdoor recreation, with volunteers assisting land managers in hands-on work.

Environmental Education Week is coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) in cooperation with thousands of outstanding schools, environmental education organizations, education associations, and state and federal agencies.

Outpost CentralOutpost Central is supporting WWMD by providing web visualization software and web development services for the presentation of water data collected by the participants in the WWMD. Outpost Central develops smart water meter and sensor technology to seamlessly connect water meters and sensors to the web and is one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Asia Pacific region. Outpost smart water meters are deployed by water utilities, schools and large users of water to reduce leakage and manage water consumption.

Peace Corps RomaniaPeace Corps started its mission in Romania in 1991. An environmental program was developed in response to a request from Romanian environmental non-governmental organizations. When these organizations began expressing interest in collaborating with Peace Corps, further investigation showed the importance and the great potential impact of a project dedicated specifically to the environment. The first environmental Peace Corps Volunteers arrived in 1998. Placements include local governments, local schools and universities, national park management authorities and environmental protection agencies in addition to NGOs. Since than, Peace Corps Romania has successfully placed more than 300 environmental volunteers with NGOs, EPAs, and National Park Authorities.

SolvattenSolvatten AB is a swedish company that has developed a new household water treatment solution.  This solution uses only solar energy (no electricity or chemicals), produces safe water in 2-6 hours and can also be used to provide warm water for hygiene.  The company is currently carrying out a demonstration project in Bungoma, Kenya with partner
Vi-Agroforestry, and Solvatten AB will enable those involved to participate in WWMD 2009.

Healthy Waterways PartnershipThe South East Queensland Healthy Waterways Partnership is a whole-of-government, whole-of-community collaboration of over 113 organisations which focuses on understanding, planning and managing the use of the waterways and catchments of South East Queensland, Australia. Along with other science, capacity building, and communication and education programs the Partnership Office delivers the Ecosystem Health Monitoring Program which monitors the health of 19 catchments, 18 estuaries and Moreton Bay and produces the annual Ecosystem Health Report Card.

SJWPStockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is an international competition for bright young scientists between the age of 15 and 20 years who have carried out a water-related project. Each year, over 30 countries join national competitions for the chance to represent their nation at the international final held during the World Water Week in Stockholm. The overall goal of the prize is to encourage young people’s continued interest in water and the environment.

GEMSUnited Nations GEMS/Water Programme is supporting WWMD and its activities through its youth initiative “Living on the Edge”. GEMS/Water Programme provides scientifically-sound data and information on the state and trends of global inland water quality required as a basis for the sustainable management of the world's freshwater to support global environmental assessments and decision-making processes.

US Science & Engineering FestivalUSA Science & Engineering Festival and WWMD have partnered in 2010. The Festival, which will be the country’s first national science festival, is a collaboration of over 500 of the country’s leading science and engineering organizations and aims to reignite the interest of our nation’s youth in the sciences. The culmination of the Festival will be a two-day Expo on the National Mall on October 23-24, 2010, which will give children, teens and adults the opportunity to explore all facets of science & engineering through hundreds of fun, hands-on activities (including a water monitoring activity hosted by WWMD). People across the Unites States are encouraged to hold Satellite Events in their communities the same weekend that hundreds of thousands of people celebrate science on the National Mall.

WabagVA Tech Wabag Limited is a leading Indian multinational company in the water treatment industry with market presence spanning across four continents and 20 countries.  With 1500 employees, the company has established R&D centres in Vienna, Austria and Winterthur, Switzerland.  In India, it has entered into a research collaboration programme with the Centre for Environmental Studies of Anna University. The company hopes to begin a WWMD outreach initiative in 2010.

WEDCWater, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) is one of the world's leading education and research institutes for improving access to sustainable infrastructure services (focussing on water, sanitation and hygiene sector) for the poor in low- and middle-income countries. WEDC is based in the Department of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University in the UK, but work all over the world. WEDC has an extensive network of present and former students active as professionals all over the world, who have taken up World Water Monitoring Day as a way to reach out about water quality awareness in the community.

NZWWAWater New Zealand is supporting World Water Monitoring Day by promoting the initiative through its membership, networks of the BOC “Where There’s Water” Community Environmental Grants program, and the BOCRoyal Society of New Zealand-Environmental Action Project (RSNZ-EMAP). Water New Zealand is a membership organization with a focus on NZWWA_2promoting and enabling the sustainable management and development of the water environment. Where There’s Water Community Environmental Grants are administered by Water New Zealand and funded by BOC with the aim of helping communities understand, maintain, protect, and improve their water environment - including streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands, estuaries, and beaches in urban and rural areas. RSNZ-EMAP is a Where There’s Water funding recipient. RSNZEMAP promotes WWMD through its environmental monitoring activities with students.

WMCWorld Malayalee Council is a non-political, non-sectarian, not-for-profit global organization of people of Indian origin. Because the availability of clean, potable water for drinking is a major issue in developing nations, WMC has taken up water pollution awareness edcuation as a major project. WMC has focused on the collection of data in the Indian state of Kerala; however, it plans to expand activities into additional regions in the coming years.

WRDWorld Rivers Day is a global celebration of the world's waterways, observed every last Sunday in September. Established in 2005, it highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public awareness while encouraging the improved stewardship of rivers around the world. World Rivers Day 2010 will take place on September 26th.WWF

World Wildlife Fund in West African Marine Ecoregion (WWF WAMER) has an office in Dakar, Senegal and supports WWMD through its environmental education program. The region includes 6 countries: Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, and Guinea. The program wants to promote WWMD to schools, rolling it out into the region starting with Senegal.
